The phrase “That’s The Gospel Truth” used to be used when I was a child. I haven’t heard anyone use that phrase in many years. It was used to convey the assurance that something was true based on the fact that the Gospel is True. The reason people don’t use it anymore is because very few people know what the Gospel is, and even fewer people know what truth is.
