Very little is said about this man Melchisedec (Melchizedek) in the scriptures. He is spoken of only one time historically in Genesis chapter 14:18, and then he is used as a type and simile of Christ’s Priesthood in Psalm 110:4. Yet, the Apostle Paul refers to this obscure character that is barely mentioned in the Old Testament nine times in the book of Hebrews. Why? What is the message? Who was this man? Why did Paul place so much importance on him when writing to these Hebrews?
