The Laws that God gave Israel for worship was a schoolmaster to bring us to Christ. It was never intended to make a man righteous in the sight of God. All of the sacrificial and ceremonial laws pointed to Christ and His work in the future. So also the Gospel (Good news) was never intended to make a man righteous in the sight of God, but points backward to Christ and what He accomplished. The Law brought to sin and death to light, while the Gospel brings Life and Immortality to light. The Gospel does not bring Life and Immortality – Christ did that.
