The Gospel is the good news of Jesus Christ: His advent into the world, His sacrifice to God on the cross on the behalf of His people, His Death, His burial and His resurrection. The preaching of the good news is not the news. It is the reporting of the good news. Preaching is the declaration of what Jesus did, and Oh what a story!
