The word “world” is used in many different aspects in the Bible. It does not always mean the whole of humanity or this planet. Many times, when the world is spoken of in scriptures, it is in contrast to Heaven. It often refers to the kingdoms of this world as opposed to the Kingdom of God. Jesus said, “In this world ye shall have tribulation, but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”
