We use tokens to help us remember covenants everyday. Our wedding rings are tokens that we wear to not only help us remember the covenant we made with our spouses, our vows and our love, but they also are tokens to others that we have entered into a covenant with someone. God entered into the everlasting Covenant with Himself. But He gave various tokens, or signs or banners of it. Now a token is not the covenant itself, but it is representative to help us both recognize and remember the covenant.
