No one likes to be disciplined, either by their parents, or by God. It is our natural inclination to push back against authority when it does not agree with what we want to do. The purpose of all discipline or chastisement is to bring about some change, both in behavior and in thinking. Sometimes the punishment is harsh, but it always is given at the correct level by our Heavenly Father.
