Elder Paul Blair – The Lost

The Religious world often uses the same vocabulary, but not always the same dictionary.  The words “Lost and Lose” when used in the scriptures means “to destroy, be destroyed, to render useless, perish, or ruin”.  One of the mistakes made when one interprets scripture is to apply meanings to words either wrongly, or out of the context of the scripture.  Some scriptures have an eternal context, and some have a timely context.  We may “lose” our joy in Christ in this world due to our disobedience and choices, as noted in Luke Chapter 15, where we have the same word applied to a sheep, a coin and a man.
