Abraham is such a prolific character spoken of in the scriptures, both the Old Testament and the New Testament. God gave him many promises regarding his “seed”. Then God told him to give his promised and long-awaited son as an offering. God called Isaac “thine only son”, even though Abraham had fathered Ishmael, and he was obedient and faithful.
